Railway stations are spaces where acoustics play a crucial role. Large crowds, conversations, public address announcements, and the general bustle of passenger traffic can easily lead to increased noise levels and reduced speech intelligibility. At the same time, modern interiors call for simple, minimalist surfaces, free from the visible elements typically associated with acoustic treatments.
This balance was successfully achieved at the Skierniewice railway station, where we applied Sonacoustic® acoustic plaster to the ceilings.
The uniform white surface resembles a standard, traditionally finished ceiling. It is only through its performance that its additional function becomes apparent: it effectively absorbs sound, reducing reverberation and enhancing the interior's acoustic comfort.
This is one of the key advantages of the Sonacoustic® system—it allows for improved acoustics without compromising the space's visual design for the sake of acoustic solutions. The ceiling remains simple, white, and visually unobtrusive, yet it actively improves the acoustic environment of the entire space.
