Wooden structures are not yet very popular on the Polish market, but on a European and global scale they are a frequently used construction solution. Whether it is a standard or modular wooden construction, it also requires an acoustic approach and verification of partition parameters.
In this type of construction, material sound insulation is provided by elastomers, such as Sylodyn® and Sylomer®. They provide a vibration isolation layer under walls and structural elements, usually in the form of points or strips. Sylodyn® is additionally resistant to water absorption, so it will be a better choice in exposed areas.
Properly constructed vibration isolation provides assurance of reducing the impact of structure-borne sound. Properly founded floor structures can achieve impact sound attenuation ∆Lw of 38 dB and specific insulation Rw of 79 dB.
As a result, designers, regardless of the design used (modular or prefabricated), do not have to compromise in terms of noise protection, and the quality of life and living comfort are dramatically improved.
